For a while I have generally thought about gender (identity) as essentially a model in three dimensions^[1]:

balance of male-female (whatever that means to you)
all-none: "how much" gender you feel
caring-uncaring^[2]: how much gender plays a role in your identity

I think this is a good starting point to reflect on what role gender plays in your identity, especially because we are usually not invited to explore this aspect of our selves unlike other things like religion, nationality, or culture.
